These are the terms you agree to when you order a song from us. We've written them in plain English rather than legalese, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.
We write and produce an original song based on a story you give us. Every song is made for one person and one occasion. Songs are digital — there is nothing physical to ship.
Give us accurate information. The song is built from what you tell us, so a wrong name or a missing detail becomes a wrong lyric.
We may decline an order. In practice this means anything hateful, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or intended to upset rather than delight the person receiving it. If we decline before starting work, you get a full refund.
What's included depends on which package you bought:
Need more than that? Ask. We'll quote you a price before doing the work. We never add charges you haven't agreed to.
Most songs are finished within a few days of receiving your story. Time spent waiting for your feedback on the lyrics doesn't count toward that.
If you have a hard deadline — a wedding, a birthday, a funeral — tell us in the story box before you order. We'll say straight away whether we can make it. We can't guarantee a date we weren't told about.
You get your song in whatever format you need — MP3, WAV or otherwise. Just say which.
Once you've paid in full, you have a licence to use your song for personal, non-commercial purposes — playing it, sharing it with family and friends, putting it in a slideshow, keeping it forever.
Commercial use is separate. If you want the song for a business, an advertisement, a product, or anything you'll make money from, tell us up front and we'll agree the terms and pricing in writing. Don't assume it's covered.
We may use your song to show our work. That means things like our website or our YouTube channel. If you'd rather we didn't — and plenty of people would rather we didn't, because these songs are private — just tell us and we won't. Say so at any time, before or after, and we'll take it down.
You can ask for a full refund at any time before you approve your song. Approving is the point at which your download unlocks and the sale becomes final. The full policy is on our refunds page.
We're a small team of songwriters and producers, not a corporation with a legal department. Our liability to you is limited to what you paid us. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example, if a song doesn't arrive in time for an event we weren't told about.
We may update these terms. The version in force for your order is the one published when you placed it.
