You're about to tell us something personal — that's the whole product. Here is exactly what happens to it.
What we collect
- Your name and email address, so we can deliver your song and talk to you about it.
- Your phone number, only if you choose to give it.
- The story you send us — who the song is for, the occasion, and the details you want in it.
- Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
About your story. We use it to write your song and nothing else. We don't publish it, sell it, or feed it to anyone. If you'd like it deleted once your song is finished, ask and we'll delete it.
What we do with it
- Write and produce your song.
- Contact you about your order.
- Take payment and guard against fraud.
We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to, and we never sell or rent your information to anybody.
Who else touches your data
Only the services needed to actually do the job:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Cloudflare — hosting this website and the private page where you review your song.
- Google — the shared document we use for your lyrics, if you're working with us on the words.
- Our email provider — for correspondence with you.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. There is no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, no ad network watching you. That's why you're not seeing a cookie banner — there's nothing to consent to.
Your browser may store a small preference locally (for instance the private link to your song page). That stays on your device.
How long we keep things
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax. We keep your story and song files so we can send you the song again if you lose it — unless you ask us to delete them, in which case we will.
Your rights
Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@giftsofsong.com and we'll do it.
Security
We use standard protections and take this seriously, but no website can promise perfect security. Please don't send us anything in a story box that you'd be devastated to see disclosed.
Children
This service is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. Songs for children are very welcome — the order just needs to be placed by a grown-up.
